Their food reminds me of weekends BBQ with all my family when I was little. It is comfort food. The staff are very friendly helpful and it just reminds me of being home.
The best tamales you can get that aren't made by your actual family! Been going to them for years and the quality and taste only gets better and better. I've moved several times but distance will not keep me away from the home cooked taste of all her different delicious Mexican food like carnitas and birria.
So we just moved to Tacoma and I came here with bro and hubby because I've never actually been in a Mexican market. We ended up buying food. The chicharon was bomb and so was the carnitas. They were fresh and really good. They also serve tacos and tamales, and other things. I'll try them when I come back.
Tenemos barbacoa! Ruth, the owner, is so friendly. She explained what they serve on the weekends from 8:30am to 1:00pm. She recommended coming at 9am and coming before noon. They typically run out of carnitas, barbacoa (the real deal without any added sauce or seasoning), birria, cabrito, consome, and all the other authentic Mexican staples. She even gave me a chicharron and carnitas taco with all the trimmings. The chicharron was braised and was very delicious. The green salsa was very spicy and delicious. This is going to become my regular barbacoa breakfast spot on the weekends.
